Vitra Design Museum

Commissioned for the Alvar Aalto exhibition at the Vitra Museum, Basel, we created a mobile app to help visitors learn more about the exhibits by tapping on NFC tags next to the items. To continually improve the visitor experience, analytics from every device is recorded & relayed back to the cloud via a purpose built 3G router.

By creating a simple app, containing additional information about the exhibits it allowed for the curator to provide that information to the visitors’ at a precise point in the exhibition using NFC.

The technology helped track the visitors’ interaction and as a result, a greater understanding was gained of the their behaviours, which could be utilised in the design of upcoming exhibitions.
